Which province has the lowest token tax in 2026-27?

Token tax for the same car in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh, compared by engine size, with the official schedule for each.

It depends on the engine. Up to 1000cc, Sindh (Rs 1,500 a year) and KP (Rs 2,000 a year) charge a small yearly amount, while Punjab and Islamabad take Rs 20,000 and Balochistan Rs 12,000 once for life. Above 1000cc, Punjab (0.3% / 0.4%) and Islamabad (0.25% / 0.35%) take a share of the invoice price every year, which is usually far more than the fixed yearly amounts in KP, Sindh and Balochistan (Rs 1,400 to Rs 8,000).

Example: a 1,500cc car with a Rs 5 million invoice

Punjab: 0.3% = Rs 15,000 a year. Islamabad: 0.25% = Rs 12,500 a year. KP: Rs 4,000 a year. Balochistan: Rs 1,400 a year (or Rs 17,000 once for life). Sindh: Rs 4,000 a year. FBR’s s.234 tax is added in every province.
